Coronavirus Update San Antonio, May 4: Metrohealth reports 165 new COVID-19 cases, one new death


As of Tuesday, the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District reported a total of 218,712 COVID-19 cases and 3,373 deaths in Bexar County. One new death was reported today.

Metro Health also reported that 223 patients were hospitalized, 71 were in the intensive care unit and 42 were on ventilator. There are 9% of staffed beds available and 72% of ventilators available.

The Texas Department of Health reports that 785,170 people were first vaccinated with COVID-19 and 563,605 were fully vaccinated in Bexar County.
