Governor Abbott, city officials help start construction at Frisco’s new Omni PGA Resort

Frisco, Texas — Big News and Movement in Texas. We know that the PGA of America announced three years ago that it would relocate its headquarters from Palm Beach County, Florida to Frisco.

Exciting news, governor, and other leaders on Tuesday held a groundbreaking ceremony at the 600-acre construction site at Frisco’s Omni Resort.

“When you think about it, we’re here today, we’re announcing a breakthrough at hotels and resorts,” said Governor Greg Abbott.

It’s the day they’ve been waiting for a very long time, especially after the pandemic. Resorts create hundreds of new jobs.

“We run all the programs here. We have a state-of-the-art education center,” said Jim Richardson, president of the PGA of America.

What will this golf course and Omni Hotel look like?

It’s hard to imagine seeing this vacant lot, but Omni has at least 500 rooms. There are several eateries and a spa.

The resort also has golf villas and many more.

Peter Strebel, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts, said:

In everything Omni does in Frisco, they even promise to help the community by saying “Good night hungry”.

“Every time we stay at one of our hotels, we provide one meal to the food bank,” said Abbott.

The resort is scheduled to open in the spring of 2023.
